We continued on horseback until late afternoon, we passed llamas grazing, and natives tending their herds of sheep, life was so peaceful out there on horseback. I honestly felt like I was in a dream, as I was continuously being overwhelmed with the beauty of the land. We were warmly welcomed by an indigenous family who lived and worked in Salinas. They were so hospitable I couldn’t believe it, providing us with food and a room in which to stay. The woman there owned a textile store in which a collective of women from the community worked. They handmade scarves, hats, sweaters and purses to sell in the store. They were so beautiful and a great way to support the community of women. We conversed with the family and shared a few drinks and slept nice and sound during the night.
